I know that music leads the way to romance. So if I hold you in my arms, I won't dance. Penelope loved the nice warm weather that summer had to offer. It made her happy, and she loved the feeling of sunlight on her skin. She equally loved the nice, warm nights too. Hogwarts started a few weeks earlier than usual, all for the new kids. While she didn't particularly like it, she enjoyed being out in the wizarding world during summer. She put on one of her favorite dresses-pink and mid-thigh length- and paired it with a simple pair of flip flops. Penelope was anxious to get out and have a fun night of music and socializing. Penelope made her way to Vellissima Alley, a place she didn't visit very often. A club caught her eye and she decided it wouldn't hurt to take a peek. Once inside, she discovered it was Piano night, and absolutely adored it. She took a seat near the dance floor, enjoying the music. A tall man came over to her, a friendly grin on his face and a lively glimmer in his eye. He asked her for a dance, and she looked over at the couples dancing on the floor. Penelope, being the friendly girl she was, accepted his hand and the two proceeded to dance. She didn't realize how clumsy she was until the music began to speed up and the footwork got more complicated. "I'm sorry, but I've two left feet tonight!" She said with a laugh, continuing to struggle along with the steps. The man didn't seem to mind too much, and soon the song came to an end. She thanked him for the dance and sat back down at her little table, laughing over what she had just managed to do. "How embarrassing." She giggled, enjoying herself nonetheless. outfit.

It was summer and to be honest Nixon was no where near ready to go back to school, like many others Hogwarts was his home away from home but lets face it how many teenagers actually enjoyed school work. Not it was the socializing and the torment he liked to inflict on the young less expecting wizards at school. Unless you were a pure blood with good social standings then you were a likely target for Nixon.
Strutting his school colors even when school was not in session, Nixon was wearing dark jeans with a green plaid shirt. He walked with pride and probably even looked pretty conceded. Once you got to know Nixon and really know him he was actually a decent guy, he just had this tough guy persona you had to break through. As he entered the club with a group of his friends, for another night of picking up girls and trying to score some alcohol, though they were very unlucky with the second.
A smile came across his face and he couldn't help but laugh when he noticed a familiar blond on the dance floor, and how awful she was at dancing. As she sat down he walked up behind her placing his hand on her shoulder Oh Nelope, Id ask you to dance but I'm afraid you might break my feet he said a smirk playing across his face. Penelope had earned a soft spot in Nixon's heart though he had never told her how he felt. It started out as friends in their early Hogwarts years, a bit of a odd friendship as well. Most of his Slytherin class mates never understood why he hung around the bubbly blond Hufflepuff girl. I should warn every guy in here not to dance with you, in fear that you may step on their feet and break them with your clumsiness he teased.

Penelope knew she was a bad dancer, she never was as graceful as half the students at Hogwarts. But she was just fine with that. She allowed herself to laugh at her shortcomings, and hopefully others would laugh with her.
She thought about ordering a drink, maybe a snack. Penelope even thought about trying to dance again. Just as her mind was coming to a decision, a hand was placed on her shoulder. A familiar voice spoke out, and she got a confirmation of the person as he called her Nelope. It was a name she didn't care too much for, but didn't mind because it was Nix. He ridiculed her dancing in a teasing manner and she felt her cheeks slightly flush. "I can't help that I've got two left feet." She giggled, turning slightly to look at his face. Still sporting Slytherin greens even out of school.
Nix had a very special place in Penelope's heart, he just didn't know that. They had been friends from an early year, which was unlikely as he was a pure blood from Slytherin, not to mention a legendary family. She was just another girl, nothing really special about her. But Penelope didn't mind.
He said he'd warn everyone, and she continued to laugh. "Oh please, I doubt you're much better Nix." She teased, playfully elbowing him.
"So, what brings you here?" She was sure she knew the answer though: picking up girls with a few friends. He did that often, but she never said a word. She was his friend after all, and what kind would she be if she held him from doing what he liked?

Oh please, i doubt your much better nix was that a challenge? because it sure felt like one. Nixon was a great dancer but it wasn't something he went around bragging about, it sure came in helpful when trying to impress the lady's though. Flash a smile, say some cheesy pick up line and take the girl dancing. It always worked though Nix was known for his flirty nature, and so it usually ended after the dance or after a one night hook up. It wasn't that he was scared to be in a real relationship but he had high standards, not just any girl would do.
I wanted to drink and show off my sweet moves he joked leaving out the part about picking up girls. It wasn't like he was trying to hide anything about it because lets face it every one knew how boy crazy he was, but for some reason he didn't want Penelope to see him as the kind of guy that hooks up with every one.
Just then a slow song started to play and only a few couples started to dance on the floor. Placing one arm behind his back and bending over like he was bowing he offered his other hand to her. Miss Penelope, May I have this dance? he asked. He could now prove to her that he was a much better dancer, not to mention it was his opportunity to hold her close in his arms. Something he had been dyeing to do, but had never quite convinced himself to do so until now.

She enjoyed being around Nix. He was funny and just an all around good person. Penelope didn't feel the need to point out any of his flaws or shortcomings (there weren't that many to begin with) because he was happy how he was and so was everyone else. Even though she didn't really care much for the nickname Nelope, that wasn't enough to change her opinion of her friend.
When he said he was just out with friends, she raised a questioning yet playful brow, knowing full well that he could be leaving out the key shenanigans he came there for. And as much as Penelope hated to admit it, she felt a slight pang of jealousy. However, she sucked it up and put on a happy face for her dear friend Nix.
Slow songs always made her feel awkward. Penelope was a sociable girl, and pretty too, so she never really had a problem finding a partner. But there was always an occasion where she was at a place where she didn't know anyone, like here, and she always felt awkward sitting there and watching couples dance together.
It certainly came as a surprise when she found Nix formally asking her for the dance. To say she was shocked was an understatement. Penelope always thought of herself more of his wing-girl, not the one he actually took any sort of interest in. She couldn't tell if he planned to hook up with her tonight, or if it was just a friendly gesture. But she had to be positive.
She placed her hand in his and smiled. "Watch your feet." Penelope teased, almost in disbelief as she stood to dance with him.

He only called her Nelope because he knew she didn't like it, it was all about teasing her. In his own little way that was him showing his affection for her, no other girls got nicknames.... well at least not nice ones.
" What i swear I'm not getting myself into any trouble or have any hidden agenda" he said laughing when he saw her questioning look about him being out with friends. It was just a group of boys celebrating the last days of summer and getting into trouble. No crime had been committed, well at least not yet the night was still young.
When it came to clubs and social events Nix was all over the place, talking to girls, being with his friends and causing all kinda of trouble. He wasn't a shy guy and was pretty confident in himself, of course he didn't socialize with those of lesser blood status. His view on muggle borns and half bloods you either had to learn to deal with or leave, he was pretty stuck in his ways. It never did help with the kind of family he was raised in though.
When it came to Penelope he was flirty and like to tease her, but really if she ever needed anything he would be there in a flash for her. He had no intentions of hooking up with her, well at least not in the sense of using his boyishly good looking charms on her, sleeping with her and then leaving. No he had to much respect for her to do that. Maybe tonight would be the night he would make his move though.
Taking her hand he lead her to the dance floor, pulling her close and resting his hands on her lower back. " I'm sure you wont be as bad with a good dance partner. Ill make you look good" he said referring to the last guy as a bad dancer, maybe he was just being a bit jealous that she had danced with some one else. Of course she didnt need him to make her look good. As he held her close, his heart started to beat rapidly and loudly to it seemed. This was nothing new to him, dancing with girls, but it was the one particular girl that made him nervous. Trying to hide the fact that he was nervous and not knowing if he was succeeding he started to move back and forth guiding her along the dance floor.

Sometimes Penelope just couldn't help but laugh. It was great to be amongst friends, and especially if it happened to be a certain Lestrange. She sometimes lost herself so much in just the sheer happiness of being around him she forgot that sometimes there was another girl on his arm, or some lady eyeing him from across the way.
Was she content with being just friends? Sometimes. Of course she wanted more, but she was terrified what he might think of her. They had been friends for so long, and Penelope had a fear that if it ever slipped up she had more than friendly vibes for him, it could ruin their friendship. She didn't want that.
So she just smiled and nodded when he said he wasn't on a hidden agenda. Penelope genuinely believed him this time too. She didn't have a cause to doubt him. Not now anyway.
Nix lead her out to the dance floor and pulled her close. As he rested his hands on her back, she could swear her heart was just going to beat it's little self to death. She could hear it in her ears, and wondered if Nix heard it too.
He was a much better dancer than she was, and thoroughly believed him when he said he'd make her look good. "If you can't, then no one can." She replied with a smile, following his lead. At least he knew what he was doing.
She leaned into him as they danced, a smile playing at her lips the entire time. "Maybe you are a good dancer after all." Penelope added, smiling up at him.
